ADSL, Cable Modem connections, and other kinds of broadband, although being fast, have the inconvenience of having dynamic IP. Each time the computer connects to the ISP, it will receive a different IP address than on the previous time it connected to the Internet.

This makes impossible to host Web Servers, Webmail, VPN, external controls and other services that need to locate the computer, and therefore know the IP address of the connection.
